Hi, I'm Corby and I'm an interactive professional. What that basically means is that I make website, I work on interactive CD's,I "do flash&... You know, that kind of stuff.

From my very first website, designed for Baskin Robbins Ice Cream in 1997, I've developed interactive projects for clients including Mazda, Scotiabank, BMO Financial, Teletoon, Sprint Canada, Esso, The Canadian Marine Discovery Centre and many others. I have successfully completed projects with budgets ranging from a thousand dollars to hundreds of thousands of dollars. I've been showcased in books and have written industry related articles. I've even won some awards over the years.

My extensive experience has taught me to follow three guidelines to keep all of my projects on track and successful:

  2. Interfaces design should strive to be user-centric
  3. Be conservative with unproven technologies

RELIABILITY

That's what sets me apart from others: I take pride in having developed a reputation for consistently delivering projects on time and on budget with incredible reliability.

I make sure that all of my interactive work is developed in accordance to best industry practices and my web projects conform to W3C standards. In my career I've produced more than 60 CDROM titles and have had more than one million discs in circulation without a single reported programming error. For web based projects, I make sure that my coding is not only compatible with current web browsers, but with future web technologies in mind as well.

But careful design and error free coding only matters if projects are delivered on time and that's where I really shine. I've even gone so far to drive a project from Toronto to Montreal and back overnight when the planes were grounded and it was too late for couriers.

My philosophy is simple:

"Do what you say you're going to do when you say you're going to do it"

SKILLS

I was originally educated in video production and a couple years later went back to school for Multimedia. It was a difficult decision to make but in retrospect it was the best thing I could have done. With my education and experience in both of these fields, I've built a bank of skills and knowledge you simply won't find with a typical programmer or designer. The Internet has evolved enough to combine both of my core disciplines and deliver engaging interactive video, much like what you're watching right now.

Of course, my offering is much more diverse than just interactive video. From information architecture and design to programming and testing, I am often involved with every step of a project. I have experience both managing and working as part of a team but I'm equally capable of taking full ownership and independently delivering a complete project.
