New Website Launched

Greetings to everyone and welcome to my new website. It's been fun developing but much like everything, has taken more time than it should have. Because it's my own branding and promotional piece, I spend countless hours thinking about what could be done and how to put my best foot forward. I've been in the industry for 10 years and I must say that I've grown very tired of your typical, over the top, useless flash website and flash intros. My goal this time was to provide real value to anyone who visits my site. I've designed and not "decorated" the interface meaning, everything has a purpose.

I'm getting wiser with my old age...

As well, I have attempted to implement a good use of interactive video. You'll see that on the homepage at the top where it says "Why Hire Corby Simpson." While many people don't like the use of Flash on websites, I think that if used properly it can be a very powerful tool which will help engage the user and ultimately deliver a richer, more powerful experience!

While I have normally been an ASP guy, I decided to take a look at the merits and possibilities of PHP and mySQL. I must admit, I quite like it, in fact, I like PHP more! There are some minor differences but I am enjoying PHP more and more every day.

Things that are going to be added to this site are an XML feed of the news section. I've got it working, but need to research more on how news readers actually parse XML and RSS content to be usable content. But this is all to come in time.

At the end of the day, this website has been a complete overhaul of my old site. I'm using bigger heading which are easier for readers to scan and the content is cut into short and easy to read paragraphs. If you managed to actually read this far... Kudos! most people don't read on the web.
